Thirty Days Day 3

I'm thankful today and everyday for that old guy there mowing the yard. He's cantankerous, ornery, hard headed, and stubborn. However he is also wise, loving, caring, honest, strong, hard working, patient, intuitive and well my favorite old guy on our block. Its a treasure for my kids to live next door to Grandpa. We take for granted sometimes that he lives next door. My boys love to hang out with him. He takes them for hours at a time to pick up uniforms for the uniform bank. He takes them to lunch, to places I generally don't take them. He reads to them when ever they ask. Where's Waldo and I spy books are a favorite of his and theirs. Right now in life I wouldn't want to be anywhere else except for living next door to my Dad. He's getting older in years and we just might not have him around forever so we treasure the moments and time we spend with him.
If you could keep this guy in your prayers tomorrow. He go's in for some minor surgery as he put it. Well I don't think any surgery is minor. I'll take him in and sit and wait while he is in the operating room. Yep thats how I am spending my Thursday because there is no better way to spend it then waiting, caring and saying a prayer here and there for my Dad.
